George Starkey (1628-1665)

Starkey was an American chemist and alchemist who was active in the 1600s. He is best known for his pioneering work in iatrochemistry and the development of the Starkey-Boyle law.

Starkey was born in England, and is believed to have studied medicine and chemistry at Oxford University. He was a member of the Royal Society and wrote numerous works on alchemy, including The Way to Make Perfect Gold, which was published in 1669.
